Tata Altroz CNG AMT Launched at Rs 8.69 Lakh in India: First Premium Hatchback with CNG Automatic

Tata Motors has launched the much-awaited Tata Altroz iCNG AMT in India. Priced from Rs 8.69 lakh (ex-showroom), it is the country’s first premium hatchback to offer a factory-fitted CNG engine with automatic transmission. This new model brings comfort and efficiency together for city drivers.

Why Tata Altroz CNG AMT is Special

Many people want CNG cars for low running costs but also need automatic ease in heavy traffic. Until now, premium hatchbacks did not offer this combination. The Altroz CNG AMT fills this gap perfectly. It makes daily driving stress-free while saving money on fuel.

Price and Variants

The new Altroz iCNG AMT comes in five variants:

  • Pure – Rs 8.69 lakh
  • Pure S – Rs 8.99 lakh
  • Creative – Rs 9.56 lakh
  • Creative S – Rs 9.81 lakh
  • Accomplished S – Rs 10.76 lakh (approx.)

Prices are ex-showroom. The AMT version costs about Rs 50,000 to 60,000 more than the manual CNG models.

Engine and Performance

The car uses a 1.2-litre Revotron iCNG engine. On CNG, it produces around 73.5 PS power and 103 Nm torque. In petrol mode, it gives about 88 PS and 115 Nm. It comes with a smooth 5-speed AMT gearbox.

Tata’s twin-cylinder CNG technology keeps a good boot space of 210 litres. You can start the car directly in CNG mode and switch between petrol and CNG easily while driving. Fuel efficiency is expected to be excellent for city use.

Features and Safety

Higher variants offer modern features like:

  • Large touchscreen infotainment system
  • Digital driver display
  • 360-degree camera
  • Automatic climate control
Premium sound system

Safety is a big strength. The Altroz already has a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating. It comes with 6 airbags, ESP, and strong body structure as standard.

Who Should Buy It?

If you drive mostly in the city, want low fuel costs, and like automatic convenience, the Altroz CNG AMT is a great choice. It competes with cars like Maruti Baleno but offers better safety, build quality, and the unique CNG+AMT combo.

Final Thoughts

The Tata Altroz CNG AMT is a smart and practical car for Indian roads. It combines style, safety, efficiency, and ease of driving. With rising fuel prices and growing CNG network, this launch makes perfect sense.
